What Guardian does
With a Guardian Pawn traveling alongside you, the specialization prevents oxcart attacks. During a camp attack, the Pawn can repel small enemies alone; against a large enemy, it reduces the enemy’s health before the Arisen joins. It does not automatically win every large camp fight. It is a specialization, not an active weapon skill to assign on the combat skill bar.
Get Guardian’s Tome
Get Guardian’s Tome through one of these routes:

If a returning save has already completed the relevant reward quest, check the inventory for the copy supplied with the update before buying another.
Teach the specialization
Use the tome for your Main Pawn and confirm the resulting specialization in the Pawn’s details. Check the specialization you are replacing before consuming the book.
Use Guardian when travel interruptions are the problem you want to address; it does not replace healing, supplies, or preparing for enemies encountered on foot.
