Dragon's Dogma 2: Fast Travel and the Eternal Ferrystone

At a glance

After Seat of the Sovran, speak to Brant to receive the Eternal Ferrystone on updated installations. Returning saves that already completed the quest receive it in their inventory; travel still requires a Portcrystal destination.

Get the Eternal Ferrystone

Complete Seat of the Sovran and talk to Brant. The updated base game grants the Eternal Ferrystone automatically. If you completed the quest before the update, check your inventory for the added item.

The reusable stone removes the need to buy a consumable for every trip. It does not let you teleport to any arbitrary point on the map.

Travel to a Portcrystal

  1. Activate the destination’s Portcrystal.
  2. Open the map and move the cursor to that destination.
  3. Use the Ferrystone travel prompt, or use the stone from your inventory.
  4. Confirm the destination before traveling.

Portable Portcrystals are useful near places you expect to revisit, especially quests that ask you to bring someone back. Monster Culling now also rewards a Portcrystal; saves that already completed it receive the added reward.

Fixed destinations and oxcarts

The added fixed Portcrystal destinations include Melve, Checkpoint Rest Town, and Volcanic Island Camp.

Oxcarts have additional stops and departures extending from morning into evening. They follow routes rather than acting as unrestricted fast travel. The Guardian Pawn specialization can help protect oxcart and camping journeys.

In Normal Mode, the ordinary Ferrystone price was reduced from 10,000 G to 5,000 G. Check the mode and shop before budgeting around that price. If the reusable stone is missing, check the update and quest state first.
